It’s so simple for everyone to get involved, have some fun and help continue to make a difference to families experiencing breast cancer by raising much needed funds for McGrath Breast Care Nurses.

It started out as a small idea by 14 year old Nikolas Mitchell, which then turned into a whole month of ‘Pink’ Rugby League across the Townsville area.
At just 12 years of age, Nikolas decided to support the McGrath Foundation, (through Pull On Your Socks), at his School - Townsville Grammar. Moved by his best friend’s family experience with breast cancer, Nik encouraged his own mum to participate and support the campaign.
‘I just wanted to help out families who are in need and support them, because sometimes they can’t do it on their own.’
Last year, with Nikolas’ passion, Townsville’s entire rugby league community, including its NRL Club jumped on board. The players turned their jerseys pink, wore the pink socks and the supporters held a Women In League Ladies Day to raise money for the McGrath Foundation.
